Mel England has starred on Screen and Stage, Off Broadway , internationally and across the USA. He just completed filming the title role in "Ron and Laura Take Back America", co-starring Golden Globe Best Actress Nominee Irene Bedard and Jim J. Bullock, and recently signed to co-star with Academy Award Best Actress Nominee and Golden Globe Winner Sally Kirkland in the upcoming feature "Love Anonymous". Notably, England co-starred with Horror film star Sid Haig in the indie hit "Little Big Top", also starring Jacob Zachar of TV's "Greek", as the scary Mr. Ghoulden in the upcoming dark comedy "Persona Au Gratin", and "Highlights", nominated for Best Drama in the Moviefone Short Film Festival. In 2009, England's solo show "Swimming with the Polar Bears" premiered Off Broadway in New York as part of a benefit for The Climate Project, which featured posters of the show signed by former Vice President Al Gore, and then toured world-wide, in Los Angeles, the National Mall in Washington DC for the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day, and at the 2009 UN Climate Change Summit in Copenhagen. England's first solo show "Navajo Memoirs", premiered in 2001 in New York, exploring his Native American heritage and identity (and the convergence of Hollywood and History), and was dubbed "Ingenious" by Backstage. Other Off Broadway credits include "Hecuba", "Marriage" and "The Imaginary Invalid" with the Pearl Theatre. England also starred in the New York and Los Angeles premieres of Israel Horovitz's one-man play about September 11th, "3 Weeks After Paradise", benefiting children of WTC victims. England is the recipient of the NY Fringe Festival's "Best Acting Ensemble Award " for "Lucky Man", and "Best Play of the Year" in Denver for the Regional Premiere of "A Shayna Maidel". He's also been a proud part of several original New York productions, including director Chris Sanderson's annual "Midsummer Night's Dream" in Washington Square, "Sea Monkeys" by Tony Nominee Chad Beguelin, "The Honeysuckles" by Harold Slazer (developed for television by FOX), and "King of Connecticut" with Phillip Semour Hoffman.
